Richard Ashcroft Brings North America the 'Keys to the World'

Published: 2006-02-28
Even though fans in the UK have been enjoying the new Richard Ashcroft album for almost a month, we here in North America will have to wait nearly another month before it's released here.

Keys to the World was released on January 23 in Ashcroft's home country of the UK but we'll have to wait till March 21 rill it hits' store shelves here.

This will be the third solo offering from the former lead singer of the now defunct group the Verve who had a massive hit in the nineties with "Bittersweet Symphony". The band split in 1999 and in 2000 released his first solo effort Alone with Everybody.

But Ashcroft is far from alone, making buddies with other UK music elite like Oasis and Coldplay. In fact Ashcroft is opening for Coldplay on the second half of their current North American tour including dates in Ottawa and Toronto, which coincidently are right around the time his album drops in North America.

Here's what the album looks like:

"Why Not Nothing?"
"Music Is Power" (Ashcroft, Curtis Mayfield)
"Break the Night With Colour"
"Words Just Get in the Way"
"Keys to the World"
"Sweet Brother Malcolm"
"Cry Till the Morning"
"Why Do Lovers?"
"Simple Song"
"World Keeps Turning"
