World Vision Photos on Sale of Avril Lavigne, Bryan Adams

Published: 2006-02-22
When photographer Andrew MacNaughtan attended last year's Canada For Asia benefit to help victims of the south Asian tsunami he was inspired to help. So, according to Chartattack, he took a trip to Uganda with World Vision Canada, "The poverty and squalor he witnessed compelled him to do whatever he could to help, which inspired Art Gives Hope."

Art Gives Hope is an online auction of photographs taken by MacNaughtan and autographed by the artist portrayed. The auction which will last from March 7 - 11 will feature over 60 photos of Canadian musicians like Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, The Tragically Hip, Our Lady Peace and Bryan Adams jus to name a few.

Money earned from the auctions will go to World Vision Canada to help raise money for African families living with HIV and AIDS. MacNaughtan hopes to raise more than $100,000.

But before the portraits go off to their auction winners they will be put up on display at the Monte Clarke Gallery in Toronto from March 11-14.
