3 Doors Down Singer Recovering from Car Accident

Published: 2006-02-14
Brad Arnold, lead singer of 3 Doors Down, is recovering in his home in Biloxi, Mississippi, after an accident at the beginning of the month.

Arnold was in the passenger seat of his car with his wife, Terika, driving in a rainstorm on February 1st. "They were coming back from a casino, hit some kind of water on the road," Todd Harrell, another member of 3 Doors Down, told the Associated Press. "The car hydroplaned, went down a high embankment, and they hit a tree. I guess if Brad hadn't been wearing his seat belt, he'd probably be dead now."

Though Arnold's wife left the accident unscathed, the singer suffered some cuts a bruises and required 35 to 40 stitches on the side of his face.

Due to the accident, the band had to postpone its show in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and cancel appearances at the Bud Bowl and Super Bowl.

No word on whether the band will continue with its European dates scheduled for March.

The band was touring behind their 2005 album, Seventeen Days, which debuted at number one on Billboard charts in the United States.

But the band is probably best known for its smash single "Kryptonite," which appeared on its debut album in 2000.

I'm so glad that he is okay. I heard about it and I started freaking out. They are my favorite band and they are the only people that I like to listen to everyday. So I can't wait to see them concert again. Thank God for seatbelts!!!
