Grammy Awards Impress Viewers

The 48th Annual Grammy Awards were handed out in style on Wednesday night. U2 was the big winner, sweeping in a total of 5 categories, including for the biggest honor, Album of the Year for How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
R&B singers Mariah Carey and John Legend won three a piece. Legend was awarded Best R&B Album for his debut album Get Lifted, Best New Artist, and Best R&B Vocal Performance during the actual telecast, while Carey won her three during the Grammy pre-telecast for Best Contemporary R&B Album for the Emancipation of Mimi, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song for "We Belong Together".

Rapper Kanye West won best Rap Album for Late Registration and won for Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song as well. Other winners include Kelly Clarkson who won Best Pop Vocal Album and Green Day who took home Record of the Year for Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

Other highlights included Madonna opening the show with the virtual animated Gorillaz, Sly Stone performed as a part of a tribute to his band, The Family Stone, Kanye West and Jamie Foxx performing the single, "Gold Digger", and last but not least a tribute to New Orleans and the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Okay, so Sly was bizarre. Sly is a sad entity. Just goes to show what addiction is really all about.
