Alan Jackson Shares his 'Precious Memories'

Published: 2006-02-01
Alan Jackson has been topping the country charts since the early 90s, but with his newest album he's decided to step away from country music and focus on a sound even closer to his heart.

Precious Memories began as a Christmas gift to Jackson's mother, but on February 28th he'll offer it up to all of his fans as well. The follow-up to his 2004 country album, What I Do, will feature 15 tracks of gospel music.

Though Jackson has often paired with musicians like Jimmy Buffet and George Strait, on this album he'll have a different kind of special guest, with his wife and two daughters singing on "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus."

Here's what else you can find on Precious Memories:

"Blessed Assurance"
"Softly and Tenderly"
"I Love to Tell the Story"
"When We All Get to Heaven"
"'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus"
"In the Garden"
"Are You Washed in the Blood?"
"I'll Fly Away"
"What a Friend We Have in Jesus"
"Standing on the Promises"
"Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus"
"Leaning on the Everlasting Arms"
"The Old Rugged Cross"
"How Great Thou Art"
"I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You"

I love the album. Please advise me if Alan Jackson wrote the song I want to Stroll over heaven with you.. Alan Jackson has been my most favorite entertainer since he became popular. My dream is to see him in person. Joyce West
