Nada Surf Bringing a Live 'Gift' to Canada

Published: 2006-01-30
New York alternative rock trio Nada Surf is heading to Canada as part of its North American tour.

The trio, including guitarist and vocalist Matthew Caws, drummer Ira Elliot, and bassist Daniel Lorca, formed in 1992 and had its biggest hit with the tune "Popular" from its debut album, High/Low. Though the group's sophomore album didn't reach the heights of the first, its third, Let Go, received positive reviews and attracted an indie audience.

Nada Surf will be touring behind its fourth album, The Weight is a Gift, which was released in September of last year.

The band will begin to tour on February 7th with an "unannounced warm up show" at the Mercury Lounge in its hometown of NYC.

From there, the trio will spend the rest of February and March on the road, finishing on March 11th in Toronto.

Here's the full list of the Canadian stops:

February 25, Vancouver, BC - Richard's on Richards
March 10, Montreal, QC - Cabaret Music Hall
March 11, Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
