The Pantheon awards are noteworthy albums that have sold less than 500,000 copies in the United States. This award recognizes those artists in the music industry that have had critical acclaim, but less commercial impact over the course of the past year.

The nominees are as follows: Animal Collective's Feels, Antony and the Johnsons' I Am A Bird Now, Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine, The Arcade Fire's Funeral, and Bloc Party's Silent Alarm.
The other nominees include Death Cab For Cutie's Plans, The Decemberists' Picaresque, King Of Leon's Aha Shake Heartbreak, M.I.A.'s Arular, and Sufjan Stevens' Illinois.

The nominees were selected by a panel that includes everyone from Elton John to Dave Matthews to John Legend to Linkin Park's Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda. The award will be handed out in Los Angeles on February 6.
