People in Planes 'Talk Too Much' with Joaquin Phoenix

Published: 2006-01-12
Welsh rockers People in Planes are getting a little help with their first music video from a famous actor.

But Joaquin Phoenix isn't going to be acting in the video for "If You Talk Too Much (My Head Will Explode)"ůhe'll be directing it. "The first inspiration is the song and for me it has to be a song that you like and respond to in some way," Phoenix says in a press release on the band's website. And the People in Planes song has something really inspiring about it. It sounds like music that I always love."

Phoenix is currently in the spotlight for his portrayal of legendary country rocker Johnny Cash in the biopic "Walk the Line."

The video was shot in an airport in Ontario, CA (that's California, not Canada, by the way) and will be finished sometime in the next couple of weeks.

People in Planes have been together since 2000 and have performed under the names Robots in the Sky and Tetra Splendor before settling on People in Planes. They'll be releasing As Far As the Eye Can See, their first CD under the new name, on March 28th.

To promote its new release, the Welsh band will be coming over to Canada for a few promotional dates:

January 20, Vancouver, BC - Media Club
January 23, Edmonton, AB - press only
January 24, Toronto, ON - Horseshoe Tavern
January 25, London, ON - press only
