Jack White's Not Talking in Japan

Published: 2006-01-11
For the next two weeks, you won't hear a peep from White Stripes singer Jack White.

The singer has been forced to postpone the Stripes' Japanese tour promoting its most recent release, Get Behind Me Satan, due to problems with his voice. He has been instructed by doctors not to speak or sing for the next two weeks in order to aid the healing of his vocal cords.

His healing will force the rescheduling of a handful of Japanese tour dates, including two in Tokyo, one in Osaka, and one in Nagoya. In a statement to fans, the White Stripes said, "We sincerely apologize to our Japanese fans and friends and hope to reschedule dates as soon as we can."

White should be better in time for the Big Day Out Festival in New Zealand and Australia beginning January 20th.
