Holt the Presses!

Toronto musician, Michael Holt livened up the folk scene at the trendy Mitzi's Sister Friday night with his latest CD release, "Pilot Single". An experimental and harmonic album, Michael is no stranger to the folk circuit of North America.

He grew up in Greenwich Village, New York and spent 9 years touring and living in San Francisco constantly making/creating music. "Pilot Single" was mixed and tracked four years ago but his spirit has held it from the public until now. His music has been said to be, "music with tasteful mistakes in it." Musicians from all over played along side Michael to show their support, Don Kerr of The Rheostatics and Ron Sexsmith's band strummed a mean cello as Dave Celia peddled out his electric guitar which livened up some of the more mellow tracks. Ever the eccentric, Owen Pallett from The Hidden Cameras failed to grace the stage, no one seemed to notice, the night was mellow and cappuccino drenched.
