Vines To Make Triumphant Return In March

Published: 2006-01-03
After being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome late last year, front man and lead singer of the Vines, Craig Nicholls, is ready to make his long over due return to the spotlight with his band, the Vines.

The Vines, based out of Australia, have graced the covers of numerous music magazines including Rolling Stone and have been deemed one of the many garage rock bands to help save rock from its slump in the past few years. Following the commercial and critical success of their debut album, Highly Evolved the band went back to the studio to record their sophomore album entitled Winning Days, which was met with lukewarm reception from audiences and critics alike.

After being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism, it just added to the pressure of being in a rock band. The touring aspect may never occur for the band again, as it adds stress to the situation for Nicholls, but they still expect the band to perform occasionally.

According to a statement posted on the band's website, they are "sounding brilliant" and Wayne Connolly is helping to produce the record. Drummer Hamish Rosser told that the band is very excited to be working on a new album and that the album itself is shaping up to be "a diverse range of songs". One of their songs titled "Going Going Gone" will be a Vines staple ballad and the first single has yet to be determined.

Their still untitled third record will be hitting stores come late March.
