Bela Fleck hits the road with the Flecktones

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are doing what they do best in 2006, hitting the road.

The band which is a fusion of bluegrass and jazz with a pop sensibility is made up of banjoist Bela Fleck, bassist Victor Wooten, percussionist Future Man and saxophonist Jeff Coffin.

The experimental band is touring to support their new album The Hidden Land. The record which will be out on January 31 featured a stripped down sound which was recorded in Fleck's home in Nashville.

However, what the Grammy award winning band does best is put on a live show. They've mapped out stops for most of 2006 even before 2005 has wrapped up.

They won't be heading north of the border until next fall:
