David Gilmour tours, Pink Floyd doesn't

David Gilmour is heading out on tour and reassures his fans that he won't be touring with any other band other than the one backing him.

Ever since Pink Floyd's reunion at this year's Live 8 show in London, rumors have been swirling that Gilmour and his former band mates, drummer Nick Mason, bassist Roger Waters and keyboardist Richard Wright were going to tour together. Wright commented last month that he was keen to continue working with Pink Floyd again.

According to LiveDaily, Gilmour said, "I'm rather hoping that, with this tour announcement, people will believe me when I say, honestly, this is the only band I plan to tour with," which basically squelched any rumors that the band would reunite, at least for the time being.

Gilmour will be touring behind On An Island an alum that will be released on March 7. He will also begin touring Europe around that time and will make a trip across the pond in April. A handful of cities will receive a double dose of Gilmour with two shows in Chicago, New York, Oakland, and Toronto.

It's not Pink Floyd, but is definitely still worth checking out:
