Prince makes Universal deal

Along with is brilliant library of music Prince has been infamously known for his battles with his former record company Warner Bros.

The musical icon fell out with the label in the 90's and performed with the word 'slave' written on his face and changed his name to that symbol. After splitting with the label in 1996 Prince released some indie records before releasing Musicology in 2004 on the Columbia Music label.

Now the artist has made a deal with Universal Music another major label but he did it his way, "I did my own agreement without the help of a lawyer and sat down and got exactly what I wanted," Prince told Reuters.

Universal will release his new album, 3121 in 2006 and so far it is the only album he will release with the label, as Prince stated he has only signed on for one album.

The first single off of 3121, "Te Amo Corazon" was released at a press conference on December 13.
