Weezer: On the Brink of a Break Up?

Published: 2005-12-13
With the success of their latest album, Make Believe, Weezer now may be throwing in the towel and this time for good. The band has started rumors that they might call it quits in one year from now.

Guitarist Brian Bell told NME.com that "We have no idea if we're going to be in a band next year." Meanwhile lead singer and guitarist Rivers Cuomo told MTV that he "didn't know what was going to happen in the future."

The band's latest album has sold well over a million copies in the states due to their infectious single "Beverly Hills". Make Believe is the band's fifth studio effort. The band has been on long breaks between making albums before, especially between 1997 and 2000 when Cuomo decided to go back to college and study at Harvard.
