Sum 41's DVD 'Rocked'

Canadian pop-punk band Sum 41's trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo is being released on DVD, hitting stores today.

The band spent 10 days in the war-ravaged country for a documentary on Much Music called Rocked: Sum 41 in Congo. Teaming up with War Child Canada, the band spoke to former child soldiers, UN officials, and victims of war.

During the Sum 41's trip, an unexpected outbreak of violence forced the band to leave the country. "We went to Congo to show people what war is like, how harmful it is to civilians," drummer Steve Jocz told Chart Attack, "and we ended up becoming war-affected ourselves."

"But this isn't a documentary about a rock band from Ajax, Ontario, dodging bullets," Dr. Eric Hoskins, president of War Child, told Chart Attack. "It is the story of a war that has left more than three million people dead. It is also the story of what we need to do as global citizens, and as Canadians, in order to help bring an end to this senseless tragedy."

All proceeds from the DVD will go to War Child to help children affected by war.
