Beloved Canuck songstress Sarah Harmer will be hitting the road throughout November and December in support of her latest album, I'm A Mountain, released last week (November 8). The follow-up to last year's acclaimed All Of Our Names, Harmer's latest release is a more laid-back affair, featuring what Harmer herself terms "some acoustic bluegrass ditties of mine and some choice covers."
This will be Harmer's first outing in support of the record, though earlier this summer she played a unique series of dates along the Bruce Trail, to raise awareness for efforts to preserve the biologically sensitive land along the Niagara Escarpment from development. Dubbed the "I Love The Escarpment" tour, Harmer and band hiked from Tobermory to Burlington, playing shows along the way.
This time around, Harmer will be playing mostly theatres and churches throughout Ontario and Quebec (including a four-night stand at Toronto's Harbourfront Centre Theatre), with the shows dubbed "An Evening With Sarah Harmer and her Acoustic Band." That means no opening acts, though the first date of the tour will find Harmer and band performing a special show in Belleville with the Centennial Secondary School Choir & Woodwinds.
