Art Brut Come To North America

Published: 2005-11-10
Somewhat jokey art-rock combo Art Brut (their bass player is named Freddy Feedback, after all) are bringing their red-hot UK buzz to North American shores for a tour that will see them jet across the continent in just over a week, including a one-day stop here in Canada.

The band, who can currently count Graham Coxon, British Sea Power and even Harry Potter himself - actor Daniel Radcliffe - among their high-profile fans, came to the attention of UK hipsters in 2004 on the heels of their infectious "Formed A Band" single and their high-energy live show.

The band's Pulp-meets-The Fall sounds have also earned them a couple of opening slots for Oasis, as well as a huge audience in the rock and roll hotbed of Germany, where the group recently graced the cover of that country's edition of Rolling Stone magazine.

They'll be looking to turn heads on this side of the Atlantic over the course of the next week, after which they'll head home for a brief European tour.

November 14, Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
