The Darkness Front Man Buys Own Leaked Disc on eBay

Nowadays when an artist or group announces a CD's release date, you can usually count on seeing promotional copies or digital downloads one or two weeks ahead of time. Just this week material girl Madonna was infuriated when her new disc Confessions on a Dancefloor was leaked on the internet.

But the Darkness front man Justin Hawkins is taking matters in his own hands.

The Darkness's new CD, One Way Ticket to Hell and Back, is due to hit stores on November 28th, but like many other artists, the group found that a copy of the new disc was already available on eBay.

So Hawkins took it upon himself to snatch it up for 350 pounds (about $720). "It's encoded so we'll have a name and a number ó so we'll know which disc it is, who distributed it and who they distributed it to," he told the BBC. "And that person is going to go down. He is either going to get some sort of legal intervention or he certainly won't receive an album from our record company ever again."

The first single off of the band's sophomore album, "One Way Ticket," will be out November 14th.
