Apple's Problems Not So Nano

Published: 2005-11-09
Customers from Mexico and the UK are suing Apple over the company's new tiny iPod Nanos, which they claim have defective screens that are easily scratched.

If this story sounds familiar, that's probably because it is. A suit with similar claims was filed in the United States in October, soon after the devices were released. In case you missed it, here's a brief synopsis.

When the pencil-thin successor to the iPod Mini was released in September, there was soon uproar over cracked and easily scratched screens on the device. Apple responded by admitting that a small batch of the Nanos was defective and issuing a recall and refund program.

Though this action appeased some Nano users, others continued to cry foul, stating that their Nanos were still easily scratched and that it wasn't a small batch to blame but a design flaw. The recent addition of Mexican and British discontent seems to confirm this contention.
