The Roots are leaving their label to join Jay-Z's (or Jay-Zed to us up here in the Great White North) Def Jam Left, which he has described to Billboard as ""an artist-driven label with very low deals so people are not pressured by first-week SoundScan [sales], so we can build artists."

The Roots' fist album with Def Jam Left, Game Theory, will be out in 2006.
