Johnny Winter Brings The Blues Up North

Published: 2005-11-04
Johnny Winter will be heading north next month for a trio of shows in Ontario, in support of his most recent release, 2004's Grammy-nominated I'm A Bluesman. The legendary blues rocker will head this way for a tour that his website promises will "introduce audiences to his new material while reacquainting them with his iconic guitar playing." Sounds like a can't-lose prospect, then.

Backing up Winter, recently nominated for a prestigious W.C. Handy Blues Award as well as the aforementioned Grammy nod, will be veteran harmonica player James Montgomery, bassist Scott Spray, guitarist Paul Nelson and drummer Wayne June.

Ontario fans can catch Winter this÷ the following venues:

December 8, Toronto, ON - Opera House
December 9, Kingston, ON - Stages
December 10, Ottawa, ON - Capital Music Hall
