Arctic Monkeys Come To Canada

Published: 2005-11-04
The latest band to be dubbed Rock 'n' Roll stars by the always excitable UK music press are Sheffield, England's Arctic Monkeys (remember when it was Menswear? Ah, innocent times). The group has already scored a #1 single on the UK charts with "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" and ignited a tabloid-pleasing feud with The Kaiser Chiefs. Next on the list? World domination.

The band will embark on a brief European tour before heading over to North America for the first time later this month. Strangely, the band will issue the "Dancefloor" single on vinyl-only 'round these parts, though it is already available on iTunes for those of you living in the 21st century. Their debut full-length album will not be released until next February so you'll have to make do with that until then.

There is but one Canadian date on their upcoming itinerary, so if you're hanging around the Annex in Toronto not this Monday but the next, you can check out Arctic Monkeys here:

November 14, Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
