Charlatans UK Near Completion Of Upcoming Album

Published: 2005-11-02
Britpop survivors The Charlatans UK are nearing completion of their ninth studio album, Simpatico. The NME reports that principal recording for the album has already concluded and mixing was recently completed over a three week span with producer Jim Lowe.

Bass player Martin Blunt posted a statement on the band's website saying that the five will be "reconvening in November to compile the album and to finish off exclusive tracks for forthcoming singles. (In) December, details on artwork, release dates, plans for a proposed download and for touring in the new year (which we are very, very excited about) should be posted."

Simpatico will be the follow-up to last year's Up At The Lake release; singer Tim Burgess' excellent debut solo album, I Believe was released in North America earlier this year by Koch Entertainment and, in this writer's humble opinion, is well worth picking up.
