Published: 2005-11-02
Fresh off his show-stopping appearance at Neil Young's Bridge School benefit concert this past weekend, rock 'n' roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis has announced details about his upcoming album of new material, The Pilgrim. Following in the platinum-plated steps of such artists as Santana and Ray Charles, Lewis has put together an all-star guest list for the album, due for release in February.

Among the impressive cast assembled by the man known as 'The Killer' are Bruce Springsteen, B.B. King, Mick Jagger, Neil Young, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. "It was 21 of the easiest phone calls I ever had to make," said producer Jimmy Rip on Lewis' official website, referring to the 21 guest stars that will appear on the album's 21 tracks. "Everyone wanted to play with 'The Killer'."

Also joining Lewis on The Pilgrim will be country stars Toby Keith, George Jones, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. Producer Rip also doubles as guitar player with Lewis' backing band on the album, alongside bassist Hutch Hutchinson, guitarist Kenny Lovelace and session drummer extraordinaire Jim Keltner.
