Bands Take Over BBC 6 Music

Starting December 12th you can hear your favourite band on the radio in the UKóand they won't just be singing.

The Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, and the Kaiser Chiefs have all signed on to host BBC 6 Music Selector. According to NME, the bands "will be able to champion a favourite artist, album of the day and select live performances from the station's music archive." Comedian Peter Kay, the creator of "Phoenix Nights," will also lend his time to hosting.

The Foos will be the first to take to the airwaves, starting December 12th. The band will also be performing at the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 3rd.

The Kaiser Chiefs, whose debut album Unemployment was nominated for the UK's Mercury Prize, are currently touring Europe, as are last years winners, Franz Ferdinand.

Radiohead and Manic Street Preachers have also previously hosted the show.
