ColdplayŪs New Video to Get CorbijnŪs Touch

Published: 2005-10-31
Just because you're a rock super group like Coldplay doesn't mean that director Anton Corbijn will jump at the chance to direct your new music video. "I have turned down a few previous requests from Coldplay to do a script for their songs," Corbijn told Billboard, "but I liked this song and had an idea straightaway, so that was enough for me to go on."

The video Corbijn is speaking of is for Coldplay's newest single, "Talk," from monster album X&Y, released earlier this year.

Actually, Corbijn's day job is being a photographer, and along with shooting the likes of Johnny Cash, U2, and the Rolling Stones, he recently shot Coldplay for the band's recent Rolling Stone cover.

But his music video resum» isn't too shabby, and includes directing credits on Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" and Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box." Recently, he also shot the artistic but slightly confusing video for the Killers' "All These Things That I've Done."

The "Talk" video will be shot during the first week of November. No word on when it will be hitting airwaves.
