Joel Plaskett Teams Up With Kathleen Edwards For November Tour

Published: 2005-10-27
A couple of this country's finest singer and songwriters will join forces this November for a series of shows on both sides of the Atlantic. Halifax's indie rock troubadour Joel Plaskett will head out on the road with Ottawa's alt-country sweetheart Kathleen Edwards beginning November 3 in Montreal. The pair will then perform at a number of venues in Ontario before flying over to the UK and Ireland to round out the month.

Plaskett, currently finishing off a Northeast US tour with his band, the Emergency, will perform the upcoming shows with Edwards as a solo act. And, according to his website, Plaskett may have some more UK dates to announce soon. Seems none other than Sir Bob Geldof has tapped Plaskett to open some late November/early December shows, though those dates are still officially in the 'To Be Confirmed' category.

Plaskett has also announced plans to follow up this year's LaDeDa album with the release of his first ever DVD on MapleMusic early next year. The disc will feature live footage recorded at various shows over the last couple of years, as well as some behind-the-scenes documentary-style footage. Plaskett's band has also recorded three new songs (with ex-Big Sugar frontman Gordie Johnson producing) for inclusion on the set.

You can catch Mr. Plaskett and the lovely Ms. Edwards at the following tour stops:

November 3, Montreal, QC - Cabaret
November 4, Ottawa, ON - Capital Music Hall
November 5, Kingston, ON - Dunning Hall Auditorium (all-ages)
November 9, Waterloo, ON - Starlight
November 10, Toronto, ON - Phoenix
November 11, Hamilton, ON - Underground
