MusiCares About James Taylor

Published: 2005-10-24
Seventies folk singer James Taylor will be receiving the MusiCares Person of the Year award this year. The singer-songwriter is best known for his mellow, folksy sound on 70s tunes like "Fire and Rain" and "You've Got a Friend."

Tayor's last studio album, October Road, was released in 2004. More recently he's been recognized for his environmental and political causes, playing on the "Vote for Change" tour in 2004 encouraging people not to re-elect President George W. Bush.

The MusiCares awards will be handed out in Los Angeles on February 6th, two days prior to the 48th Annual Grammy awards. No stranger to that awards show either, Taylor has won six Grammys over his thirty-seven year-career and was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll hall of fame in 2000.
