Jenny Lewis Celebrates Thirty with a Solo Album

Published: 2005-10-21
The lead singer of Rilo Kiley is celebrating her 30th birthday with a solo album.

So this January, not only will Jenny Lewis be turning the big 3-0 but she'll be releasing her first solo disc, Rabbit Fur Coat. The music won't be straying far from Rilo Kiley's pop, folk, and country style, but it will have her own personal touches, of course.

On the title track Lewis gets personal, singing about her own unhappy youth as a child star in films like "The Wizard" and "Troop Beverly Hills."
But this doesn't mean the end of Rilo Kiley. After opening for Coldplay on its recent tour, the band is just getting started.

Lewis's solo debut will be out on January 24th. Here's what you'll find on it:

"Run Devil Run"
"Big Guns"
"Raise Up With Fists!"
"The Charging Sky"
"Melt Your Heart"
"You Are What You Love"
"Rabbit Fur Coat"
"Handle With Care"
"Born Secular"
"It Wasn't Me"
"Happy (Reprise)"
