Former Velvet Underground member John Cale is taking his new album out on the road. Though he's been a musician, songwriter, and music producer for many years, it's his few years in the Velvet Underground that he is best remembered for.
The Velvet Underground, though never commercially successful, was highly influential for their experimental, avant-garde style and their connections with the art world, specifically pop artist Andy Warhol.
Cale left the band in 1968 to pursue his solo career. His most recent album, released yesterday, is called blackAcetate. His first single is "Perfect."
Cale is also heading out to promote his new album on the road. You can check him out on one of these dates, though it seems it'll be especially easy to see him if you live in Toronto:
November 13, Toronto, ON - Lula Lounge
November 14, Toronto, ON - Lula Lounge
November 15, Toronto, ON - Lula Lounge
November 17, Waterloo, ON - Starlight Social Club
November 20, Montreal, QC - Spectrum de Montreal
