Music, Movie Stars Promote ŽLunchboxŪ Hunger Relief

Published: 2005-10-11
Over a hundred famous names from the entertainment world have signed on to participate in an art auction to benefit the Food Bank for New York and the Lunchbox Fund. Participating artists will design unique lunchboxes, each numbered and signed by their creators, with all proceeds going to hunger relief.

Representing the musical world shall be such noted philanthropists as Simple Plan, as well as luminaries like U2's Bono and The Edge, David Bowie, Michael Stipe, Missy Elliott and Rob Thomas. Standing up for the hipster contingent will be artists such as Interpol, Death Cab For Cutie and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O.

Other notables who have designed lunchboxes for the event include former US president Bill Clinton, Cameron Crowe, Spike Lee, Charlize Theron and, of course, that ubiquitous non-dating couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The launch party will be held on October 13 in New York, with the online auction beginning at 9PM ET the next night on eBay. The auction will run until December.
