The Comeback Trail Lengthens For Social Distortion

Published: 2005-09-29
US punk legends Social Distortion are currently on the road and, thanks to a ton of newly announced dates, will be staying there for a good while longer. The band are still out promoting last year's Sex, Love And Rock & Roll effort, their first album of new material since 1996.

Part of the delay between albums was due to the death of guitarist Dennis Danell from a brain aneurysm in 2000; Danell has since been replaced by Jonny Wickersham, though the formidable Mike Ness remains the voice and face of the group.

The band's tour will now stretch into 2006 and, as a testament to Social D's enduring influence, includes multiple-night stands galore, including four nights in Los Angeles and New York City apiece. So far, however, only one Canadian date has been announced for the remainder of the tour.

Social Distortion's lone Canuck date is:

October 10, Toronto, ON - Kool Haus
