New Nirvana will hit stores soon

Published: 2005-09-22
In just over a month's time, diehard grunge fans will be able to explore new music from legendary garage rockers Nirvana.

Geffen records will release Sliver, a 22-track collection of essential Nirvana recordings, this November 1st. The compilation will feature three new tracks, along with selected highlights from last year's box set, With the Lights Out.

The box set did well in sales, debuting at No. 19 on the Billboard charts. According to SoundScan figures, its sales reached nearly 430,000 in the U.S. alone.

Sliver is unique in the fact that Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean, helped pick the title and album artwork. According to inside sources, Bean has become an important voice in decisions regarding her father's art and estate.

Which tracks will appear on Sliver have yet to be announced. Be sure to check back with us in the upcoming weeks for more details.
