Sex Pistols in Hall of Fame

Published: 2005-09-21
1970s punk rockers the Sex Pistols have been included in this year's list of nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Just this past Sunday, the band was also immortalized on London's new walk-of-fame, the "Avenue of the Stars," alongside anti-poverty activist Bob Geldoff and ladies man, Tom Jones. In short, it's been a good week for Johnny Rotten and Co.

A total of 15 acts are being considered for a 2006 induction to the Hall of Fame, including Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Miles Davis, John Mellencamp, and Blondie. Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five are also up for consideration.

To be eligible for induction, it must be at least 25 years since the artist(s) released their first album.

The 2006 inductions will take place next March in New York City.
