Outkast in Idlewild, Album in December

Published: 2005-09-21
After Andre 3000's big screen splashes on films like Be Cool and Four Brothers, he'll be starring alongside his Outkast partner Big Boi in Idlewild.

Dubbed the Outkast movie, Idlewild will be released sometime at the end of this year or in early 2006. Along with Outkast, the movie also stars Terrance Howard and Ving Rhames and is directed by music video director Bryan Barber, who directed Outkast's "Hey Ya."

The soundtrack for the movie will basically be a new Outkast album, as the group supplied every track for the film. Though most of the movie's songs will appear on the Idlewild soundtrack, some will be drawn from the Grammy winning Speakerboxx/The Love Below.

The first single from the Idlewild soundtrack will be "Idlewild Blues." There is no set date on the release of the single, but the soundtrack is due out in December.
