Nine Inch Nails back in action

Published: 2005-09-20
After postponing the first two shows of their fall tour, Nine Inch Nails hit the stage in Phoenix last night, ready to rock.

On Friday, the band was forced to cut short their San Diego gig when drummer Jerome Dillion began experiencing chest pains.

It was forty minutes into the set when the band stopped and left the stage without warning. Lead singer Trent Reznor then announced to fans that the band was experiencing a medical emergency, and would return shortly.

Ten minutes after the initial announcement, Reznor returned to give the fans the scoop.

"Here's what's up, no b.s.," he told the crowd. "Jerome came to me and said, 'My heart is pounding and I'm having chest pains.' We're all kind of freaked out back here."

The show was postponed until a later date, as was Saturday night's show in Tuscon, Arizona. Tickets for both shows will be honoured during the replacement gigs.

According to a personal message posted by Reznor on the band's website, Dillon is now doing fine and the tour will go on as planned. Reznor also thanked the San Diego audience for the understanding and respect they displayed, promising "I will make it up to you."

Nine Inch Nails will visit Canada with Queens of the Stone Age on:

September 26 - Vancouver - Pacific Coliseum
November 10 - Toronto - Air Canada Centre
November 11 - Montreal - Bell Centre
November 14 - Winnipeg - MTS Centre
November 16 - Edmonton - Rexall Arena
November 17 - Calgary - Saddledome Arena
