Hawksley Workman Works On New Album, Tours The East Coast

Published: 2005-09-13
He's a lover, he's a fighter, he is, of course, Hawksley Workman. Fresh from a summer tour of Australia with Serena Ryder, Canada's reigning metrosexual king is back in Toronto and continuing work on his as-yet-untitled new album.

It's been two years since the release of Lover/Fighter and, though last year saw the release of Live In Lille, fans are surely eager to snap up another batch of heartfelt yearnings and clever witticisms from the dapper Mr. Workman. No release date has yet been set for the new disc but, to tide eager supporters over for a little while longer, Workman has announced the release of Before You Were Security Guards, a compilation of songs recorded prior to his debut full-length, For Him and The Girls. The disc was previously only available at live shows but is now on sale for all to purchase at the MapleMusic website.

Hawksley is also set to rock the Canadian East Coast, with a string of dates in the bag for October, as well as a one-off gig in Edmonton for local radio station The Bear's "13th Annual Halloween Howler" with Thornley and other as-yet-unannounced acts.

Here is a handy list of confirmed Hawksley dates:

October 13, St. John's, NF - Club One
October 14, Halifax, NS - Marquee
October 15, Antigonish, NS - St. FX University
October 17, Liverpool, NS - Astor Theatre
October 19, Moncton, NB - Manhattan
October 20, Charlottetown, PEI - UPEI
October 21, Saint John, NB - The Blue Olive
