Rocket From The Crypt Callin' It Quits

Published: 2005-09-07
Garage rock heroes and cult favourites Rocket From The Crypt have announced that they're calling it a day. The politically minded rockers, whose last album Live From Camp X-Ray was released in 2002, will end their career where it all began - in their hometown of San Diego, CA. The show will be held this Halloween at the Westin Horton Plaza's Grand Ballroom. Ever mindful of their fans, the band will offer hotel room packages with ticket purchases for the show.

The band posted the following message on their website:

"After 16 years of scars and ear damage all in the name of spreading goodwill and the Rock N Roll doctrine, we will take the stage for the last time on our favorite day of the year. We know that it is very difficult for those around the world to be with us for this celebration, but we invite all that have been a part of this awesome ride to come out one more time and give it up for the band. We will offer those that have supported and fueled us the first opportunity to purchase tickets."

The show is 21 and over because the band intends to go out with a bang, stating on their website that, "there will rampant liver-defying consumption." Those hotel rooms might well come in handy.

A fans-only pre-sale will begin at www.casbahmusic.com on September 9, with five different ticket buying options available. Opening acts for the show are still to be announced. To find out more, get yerself on over to the band's official site, www.rftc.com.
