No Stone Roses Reunion

Published: 2005-09-07
If you're praying for a reunion of the 80's Britpop band The Stone Roses you're going to have to keep praying.

Frontman Ian Brown has reportedly turned down a million pounds to reform the Roses for a tour.

The Stone Roses formed in the 1980's and were a highly influential band and considered one of the founders of Britpop. Popular singles included "One Love" and "Waterfall".

In 1995 drummer 'Reni' suddenly left the band and guitar player John Squire departed a little over a year later.

But in 2004 a solo Ian began performing Stone Roses songs on the road and was even joined on stage by Stone Roses bass player Mani. Following that there came many rumors that there may be a Stone Roses reunion.

Ian is putting those rumors to rest saying that the spirit that was once in the band is no longer there and that he knows they would never be able to recreate what they once had.
