Spoon Serves Up Some Delicious Tour Plans

Published: 2005-09-01
Much loved indie-rock veterans Spoon have announced plans to hit the road this fall in support of their recently released Gimme Fiction album. They'll be coming fresh off a tour of Australia, where it's still winter of 2002 or something (hey, who knows how these crazy time zones work?). The boys, led as always by vocalist and guitarist Britt Daniel and drummer Jim Reno, will touch down on North American shores for select gigs at the end of September before hitting the road fo' real in late October.

Gimme Fiction, the Austin, Texas, band's fifth full-length effort, was released this past May to monstrous critical acclaim on pals Superchunk's ultra-cool Merge Records imprint (cough, Arcade Fire, cough) and is a worthy addition to the collection of rock and roll fans dedicated to excellence and quality.

The band will welcome such 90s indie survivors as American Music Club and Mary Timony along for various parts of their tour, though sadly, neither will be present for either of the two Canadian dates currently on the itineraryÖwhich, by the way, look like this:

November 1, Toronto, ON - Phoenix Concert Theatre
November 2, Montreal, QC - Club Soda
