Von Bondies Hit the Studio

Published: 2005-09-01
The Detroit garage rockers and former chums of Jack White that make up the Von Bondies have locked themselves in the studio for another go at an album. The four-piece is working away on the follow-up to 2004's Pawn Shoppe Heart, which brought them a ton of attention on both sides of the Atlantic.

There really isn't much information floating around on the as-yet-untitled disc, but a blog on the Von Bondies' MySpace page (myspace.com/vonbondies) reveals that they finished recording demos in late August. They'll be taking 23 songs with them into the studio, which will then be whittled down for inclusion on their third full-length.

It's safe to say that lead singer Jason Stollsteimer will once again possess the majority of the writing credits. Who's sitting behind the boards on the project is still a mystery, but the Von Bondies last album was produced by Modern Lovers and Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison.

The Von Bondies have played a handful of shows over the past month where they've previewed new material. It can be expected that the band will launch a full-fledged world tour once its new LP hits shelves.
