Montreal buzz band and Arcade Fire associate Wolf Parade has added former Hot Hot Heat axeman Dante DeCaro just in time for the upcoming release of its debut full-length album, Apologies to the Queen Mary.
The connection with DeCaro goes back to each Wolf Parade member's origins in Victoria, BC, though the guitarist was only added to the lineup upon his recent move to Montreal. DeCaro had originally cited HHH's hectic tour schedule and his desire to work on solo material as the reason for his departure, but he will join Wolf Parade on all the dates of its upcoming tour.
Wolf Parade recorded Apologies to the Queen Mary largely last year during sessions with Modest Mouse frontman and Wolf Parade fan Isaac Brock, though some tracks were re-recorded in Montreal after the initial recordings were deemed unsuitable. Now, however, all is set for the album's September 27th release by Sup Pop Records. The band released a self-titled EP through Sub Pop earlier this year to great critical acclaim, heightening expectations for the full-length album.
The connection with Arcade Fire surely hasn't hurt the band's profile either, and Wolf Parade will open some shows for its Montreal pal as part of its fall tour.
