It took 20 years for the biggest global event of the 1980s to make its way to video, and just a few months for the biggest global event of the 2000s to cover the same journey. That's right, the Live 8 DVD, which captures the highlights of the simultaneous concerts that took place around the globe, already have a release date.

On November 7th internationally and the following day here in North America, the "official Live 8 Live DVD" will be available to play over and over again in your very own home. In addition to the best performances from London, Philadelphia, Barrie, Paris, and Rome, the DVD will feature behind-the-scenes footage.

Just to get your tastebuds working, they've provided exclusive footage of Robbie Williams' warming up his vocal chords at You'll have to register with the site to view it, but it's quite possible that it's worth it.

Although their website doesn't say it, it's safe to assume proceeds will go to make the world a better place. For those who have forgotten, the Live 8 concerts took place to draw the attention of the leaders of the world's richest countries (aka the G8) to the fact that they have it within their power to end global poverty.

If you can't wait until November 7th, view every single one of the Live 8 performances for the cost of zero dollars here
