The Corrs Make Their Way 'Home'

Published: 2005-08-24
Everyone's favourite Irish family band for 15 years and counting, the Corrs have decided to give the world what it wants and drop the pop game for their upcoming album. Titled Home, the band's fifth studio album is composed of all traditional-sounding Irish songs, with presumably more of those Irish instrument sounds.

Traditional tunes like "My Lagan Love" and "Return to Fingall" live alongside more contemporary songs, including a track written by Canadian folk artist Anna McGarrigle (a.k.a. Rufus Wainwright's aunt) called "Heart Like a Wheel." There are also two songs sung in Gaelic, and an appearance by the BBC Radio 2 Concert Orchestra.

Fans will be able to get their hands on Home when it hits shelves across the country on September 27th through Atlantic Records. Chosen from a songbook by the band's late mother, Jean Corr, the track list of Home runs like this:

"My Lagan Love"
"Spancill Hill"
"Peggy Gordon"
"Black Is the Colour"
"Heart Like a Wheel"
"Buachaill on Eirne"
"Old Hag"
"Moorlough Shore"
"Old Town"
"Dimming of the Day"
"Brid Og Ni Mhaille"
"Haste to the Wedding"
"Return to Fingall"
