After thousands of angry fans spouted off and a few actual protests occurred, Fiona Apple's long-awaited third studio album, Extraordinary Machine, will finally be released on October 4th through Epic. It's been six years since Apple's critically acclaimed When the Pawn twisted tongues with its title, and it's been a long road to the next disc.

Featuring 12 tracks, Extraordinary Machine was produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, 50 Cent) and co-produced by Brian Kehew (mixing for Little Feat, Echo and the Bunnymen). Although most of the tracks were leaked online for all those voracious Apple fans to digest, lead-off single "Parting Gift" is entirely new.

Speaking about Extraordinary Machine at, Apple sounds almost as anxious to get it out there as her fans. "Now that my album is finally finished, I am very, very excited to have people hear what we didóI am so proud of it, and all of us who worked on it."

Although many were unsure if this day would ever come, the new video for "Parting Gift" is premiering over at for all to see. Giving Apple a lot face time, the performance clip features the singer behind the piano bathed in light of a rather purplish hue.
