Chad VanGaalen Leaves His Bedroom Behind

Published: 2005-08-24
Label SubPop's decision to give Infiniheart, Chad Van Gaalen's debut album, a worldwide release has prompted the musician's Canadian label to tack on a celebratory EP. Flemish Eye Records re-released the Canuck version on Tuesday with the six-song Green Beans stretching out the lengthy disc even further. The track list runs as follows:

"Green Beans"
"Carpet"
"Dolphinariums"
"Capsule"
"The Break of Dawn"
"Pomeranians"

Those saying, "Hey, I bought the album back when the buzz was only at a level-two rumble" can stop complaining, as they'll be able to get the extra tracks digitally through flemisheye.com. The bonus package also comes with the video for "Clinically Dead" hand-drawn by VanGaalen (he also did the detailed Infiniheart cover art).

Now that he's on one of those fancy, big-name labels with people to tirelessly promote him and spell "clinically" properly, VanGaalen will be doing his most extensive touring ever. A 12-date jaunt across the US has been lined-up for the singer-songwriter, with a few eastern Canadian dates later on and plans to hit the west in November and December.

Leaving his Calgary bedroom behind to kick start the rock star life, VanGaalen will show his wares in these Canadian cities:

October 1, Montreal, QC - Pop Montreal
October 13, Halifax, NS - Halifax Pop Explosion
