Vegoose Festival Announces Eclectic Lineup

Put together by those responsible for the Bonnaroo festival, the first annual Vegoose festival will take place on October 29 and 30 in the quaint little village of Las Vegas, Nevada.

At first glance, the lineup smacks decidedly of Bonnaroo II, with hacky-sack and frisbee-friendly headliners Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson and Widespread Panic all set to perform at Sam Boyd Stadium in Sin City over the course of the two day fest.

And, while hippie kids are sure to rejoice at some of the other confirmed acts - Trey Anastasio, Phil Lesh and Friends, String Cheese Incident and Gov't Mule, to name a few - it appears that some thought has been put into presenting a fairly diverse musical field.

To wit, such indie faves as Spoon, The Shins, the Decemberists and the fine ladies and gents in Arcade Fire will perform, as will legendary New Orleans funksters The Meters, hip-hop cats Blackalicious and Digable Planets, the ubiquitous Ryan Adams and wonk-rockers Primus. Not to mention Ween and the Flaming Lips, either of whom may well provide the weekend's musical highlight.

Related club shows will also be held in Las Vegas between October 28 and 31, with lineups for those shows still to be announced. Tickets for the stadium shows are on sale now.
