Three Gut Records Rocks the Afternoon and NightPublished: 2005-08-12 |

Though label founder Lisa Moran recently announced its imminent demise, Toronto's Three Gut Records will celebrate its five-year anniversary with a day long party (and wake?) on Saturday, August 20th, spanning two shows and featuring all your Three Gut faves.
The indie-rock extravaganza will begin with an all-ages show at the Tranzac Club from 2 to 5 p.m. with full band sets from Jim Guthrie and Gentleman Reg plus solo turns by members of Royal City, the Constantines, and Oakley Hall. "I think the Three Gut fun band might resurface at the end of the show," Moran intriguingly hinted on a recent Toronto message board post.
For the nightcap, it's an all-out rock affair at Lee's Palace starting at 9 p.m. and featuring sets by the Constantines (whose upcoming Tournament of Hearts record will put a capper on Three Gut's amazing run), Oneida, Oakley Hall and Kinski.
This, friends, sounds like a shindig not to be missed and a fitting finale to the Three Gut saga. See? Some stories do have happy endings. Sigh.
