Maximo Park Gets Brave in September

Published: 2005-08-12
New York five-piece the Bravery may get more flack than Britney Spears these days, but the group nevertheless continues to plow on with moderate success. One piece of the band's plan to ignore taunts from and rise above the Killers is a month-long tour of North America this September.

Here is where all talk of the Bravery ends though, and up-and-coming British band Maximo Park enters. The Newcastle-upon-Tyne five-piece will be accompanying the '80s-inspired rockers around the continent, and are sure to be half of the draw for a good chunk of people, including those at the one Canadian stop.

Crossing the Atlantic in support of their own '80s-influenced debut disc, A Certain Trigger, Maximo Park will be very busy until 2005 ends. Rather popular at home, Maximo Park will tour the UK with the Kaiser Chiefs in October after a look around Japan and Australia, and again in December for a sold-out headlining tour.
